Terms and Conditions for Ordering from SPM Skip Bins

By ordering from SPM Skip Bins, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

A. General Guidelines

1. Loading Guidelines: Do not overload skip bins above the rims.
2. Overloaded or Overweight Bins: These will not be transported at our discretion during pickup. An overload charge of $250 per tonne applies.

B. Liability and Placement

1. Damage to Property: SPM Skip Bins is not responsible for any damage to driveways or property. Bins will be placed according to the hirer’s instructions.
2. Movement of Bins: If bins are moved from the drop-off location, SPM Skip Bins is not responsible for any damage to houses, fences, or driveways.

C. Additional Costs and Payments

1. Overweight or Overloading: Extra costs due to overweight or overloading must be paid before the bin is collected. The driver may unload excess weight if deemed safe.
2. Failed Pickup/Delivery Attempts: A fee of $85 plus GST applies if pickup or delivery is prevented due to obstacles (e.g., locked gates, parked vehicles).

D. Responsibility for Damage

1. Damage to Bins: Any damage to SPM Skip Bins while on site will be charged to the hirer for repair costs.
2. Bogged Trucks: If the truck gets bogged or stuck following placement instructions, the hirer is responsible for recovery costs and any damage.

E. Credit and Payment Issues

1. Bad Credit/Defaults: Information on defaults will be passed to the appropriate authorities, and additional charges for time wasted by the hirer will be added to the original invoice.
2. Refunds and Cancellations: A refund may be issued if the order is canceled in time. A 5% cancellation fee applies if canceled upon arrival.

F. Prohibited Materials

1. Dangerous Waste: No dangerous waste materials are allowed in SPM skip bins.
2. Tyres: No tyres, except those on scooters and push bikes. Charges apply for tyres found in the bin: $35 per car tyre, $65 per truck tyre.
3. Asbestos: No asbestos in any shape or form is allowed.
4. Batteries: No batteries or any items classified as dangerous materials.
5. Wet Concrete: Wet concrete is prohibited and will incur additional charges.
6. Insulation Material: No insulation materials, wet paints, sump oil, poisons, or polystyrene.
7. Gas Bottles and Fire Extinguishers: These items are strictly prohibited.
8. Kitchen Benchtops: No kitchen benchtops are allowed. A reload fee of $670 and a return fee of $250 apply for violations.
9. Large Tree Stumps: No large tree stumps over 70 cm in circumference.

G. Hazardous Waste and Sorting

1. Hazardous Waste: If hazardous waste is found, the entire load may be returned for sorting by the hirer.
2. Specialist Handling: Additional charges will be imposed for hazardous materials that require specialist handling and disposal.

H. Public Responsibility and Council Regulations

1. Footpath Placement: The hirer is responsible for complying with council regulations when placing bins on footpaths, ensuring at least 1.5 meters of pedestrian access.
2. Fallen Rubbish: The hirer is responsible for securing rubbish in the bin to prevent it from blowing away or falling off.

I. Green Waste

1. Green Waste Restrictions: No green waste is allowed in mixed waste bins unless specifically arranged with SPM Skip Bins.
2. Green Waste Only Bins: Only green waste is allowed in bins designated for 100% green waste/tree waste.
